# ZAOstock

> A free, one-day, artist-built music festival on Franklin Street in downtown Ellsworth, Maine, Saturday 3 October 2026. Part of the 9th Annual Art of Ellsworth during Maine Craft Weekend. Produced by ZAO Festivals, the events arm of The ZAO, an independent community of musicians and digital creators (100+ members, weekly sessions since 30 July 2024).

ZAOstock is the first ZAO Festivals event in Maine, after ZAO-PALOOZA (New York City, during NFT NYC, 2024), ZAO-CHELLA (Miami, Wynwood, during Art Basel, December 2024) and ZAOville (Laurel, Maryland, July 2026, co-hosted with Dcoop).

## The day (one venue at a time)

- Noon to 4 PM, Franklin Street Parklet: independent artists, about 30 minutes each, with our MC and our partners between sets. Music starts at noon.
- 4 to 6 PM, Franklin Street Parklet: WaveWarZ, a live music-battle format. Two artists go head to head and the audience decides, in the street and online. Battlers: Stilo, Jango, Lui, Quan. Hurricane on the mic.
- 6 PM onward, Black Moon Public House, next door: the whole street walks in. DJ set 6 to 8 PM, live set 8 to 10 PM hosted by Black Moon.
- Free to attend. Rain or shine, under tent cover from Wallace Events. Optional Pro Ticket, $50, on /donate.

## Lineup

Lyons Den is confirmed. The full lineup is announced on 1 September 2026. No other act is named before then.

## Sponsors

Sponsors put money behind a named artist or the day. Every sponsor gets the same four surfaces: the parklet banner, the programme, the site and the stream, and a thank-you from the stage. Packages on request at info@thezao.com. Expected attendance: 200 to 250 in person, about 1,000 online. Sponsorship is a marketing spend; ZAOstock has no fiscal sponsor and nothing is tax-deductible.

## Why Ellsworth

Every car heading to Acadia National Park passes through; over four million people drove through in 2025. Downtown is newly on the National Historic Register. ZAOstock is measuring what a free street festival does for downtown businesses, an ordinary Saturday against 3 October, and will publish the comparison.
